Quranic studies conducted by Orientalists are constantly expanding and encompass various dimensions. One such dimension is the study of the Quranic codex (*Muṣḥaf*). This field of study has evolved through several distinct phases. Given the multifaceted nature of the Quranic codex, research in this area can significantly influence various aspects of Quranic sciences. The present study aims to examine the objectives, dimensions, and stages of the impact that Orientalist research on the Quranic codex has had on Quranic sciences. The article employs a descriptive-analytical method, grounded in a comparative and historical approach. The study of the *Mushaf* (the written text of the Quran) encompasses multiple dimensions, which can be categorized into twelve areas. These include the history of the *Mushaf*, the script, the supervising committee, orthography (*rasm*), vocalization and diacritics (*dabt*), modes of recitation (*qira'at*), verse numbering, verse divisions, the names of the *Surahs*, pause and resumption marks, manuscript illumination, and the translation and exegesis of the verses within the *Mushaf*.Research findings indicate that the ultimate objective of Orientalist *Mushaf* studies is to lay the comprehensive groundwork for interpreting the Holy Quran and presenting that interpretation to the world—including Muslims. This field of study encompasses various dimensions, such as the study of Quranic readings (*qira'at*), the orthography and notation of the *Mushaf*, verse numbering, and the antiquity of the *Mushaf*. It comprises six stages, the final one involving collaborative efforts aimed at a comprehensive examination of Quranic manuscripts.
