Among all religions of the world, Islam is markedly dissimilar from other divine, artificial, and human religions as it is based on revelation. It is for this reason that the Qurʾān is both sacred and eternal. This has provoked the hostility of enemies of Islam, especially the Jews. By coining the term Muhammadism, they have attacked the sanctity of the Qurʾān as well as Islam as a whole. The term suggests that Islam lacks a revelational origin, instead being a human religion with a book written by a human. The present article begins by explaining the term Muhammadism and explicating its consequences on the Qurʾān and the Islamic world. Next, it examines the views and doubts posited by orientalists, Jews, and malicious individuals in this regard as well as the statements of some Western scholars concerning the revelational nature of the Qurʾān.
