This essay deals with the assessment and criticism of Uri Robins article of “Prophets and Prophethood” In the encyclopedia of Quran.
Robin’s article contains these topics:
1The differences between Prophets and messengers 2. Angels and their functions 3. The status of Prophets 4. The usage of revelation and some of its characteristics 5. Miracles 6. The relation of Prophet Muhammad and his books with other Prophets 7. The scope of Prophethood 8. The aims of prophetic mission 9. Nations encounter 10. Prophet’s stories 11. Prophets in extra Quranic sources (tradition and history) 12. Prophets successors 13. New researches about the recognition of the prophets.
The author has positive comprehensions from the Quran but he has negative view as well for instance the devil influence on revelation, borrowing of Quran from Bible, and other holy books race of Muhammad and Muhammad as an Arab.
The critic has argued and criticized these points.
